Soft Husk is a protective layer, a shell, a skin of soft armour. Stuffed with medicinal plants and providing an extra outer spinal structure, the garment is formed from thoughts of softening, protection and plant healing. The quilted layers include plants that aid sleep, anti-anxiety, soothe digestion and the nervous system. The back references part of a delicate bird backbone found on the black sand of Iceland. Made half in Seyðisfjörður and half in London the piece overlays and stitches together materials, moments and modes of soothing from both places to be held within.
